What makes a Toilet Bowl in South Florida
The first toilet was invented in 1596 by John Harrington. It was not called a toilet, though. In those days it was better known as a “water closet”. It took an Englishman by the name of Thomas Crapper (no, I am not kidding) to popularize that piece of house fixture we tend to take for granted, known as the toilet.
The design has not changed that much in the last 500 years. Its job is still the same and very simple….to carry waste and prevent sewer gasses from entering the house. A toilet has two simple parts made out of china…a tank and a bowl. The in between parts consists of a flush handle, a ball cock valve, a float and flush valve seat.
Toilets have come a long way since the standard white china toilet. Fashionistas in South Florida can purchase a “Toto” (no, this is not the cute little black terrier from The Wizard of Oz) for $5000. Its feature includes: a lid that automatically opens whenever you approach. After you are done with your business, it automatically flushes and closes the lid and seat in 6 seconds flat!
If the “Toto” is too lame for some Floridians, they can always opt for the “Hang Fung Gold Toilet” for a mere $5million. Imagine doing your business in a 24k throne!
